The first debate on the Tax Incentives Bill for various productive sectors was held in the Assembly yesterday amid the crossing of interventions on whether or not to this bill has an election nuance.

This bill, submitted by the Executive branch with the character of an economic emergency, raises the deduction of prepaid medical payments in the income tax. The benefit for micro and small enterprises is 100%, for medium and large of a 50% on the condition that the companies grant that benefit to their employees.

It includes the tax exemption for vehicles owned by operators of public transport and taxis. This new bill seeks armony with the national and international standards for the calculation of the tax base on the special consumption tax (ICE) of imported goods.

The president of the Commission for the Economic Regime that analyzes the text, Virgilio Hernández (AP), indicated they would have to establish control mechanisms for companies of prepaid medicine and what is the responsibility because they would have a potential customer increase.
