Import quotas for cellphones that telephone companies maintain would be made more flexible
Posted On 05 Feb 2015
Until March is expected to define the policy to ease the cell phones import quota system for mobile companies, said the Coordinating Minister of Production, Richard Espinosa.
“We have a month and a half to define the policy we will make more flexible,” said the Minister.
“We need to know what type of device we want to promote to be consumed, especially phones that come with 4G, taking advantage that CNT (National Telecommunications Corporation, public) already has it and Movistar and Claro are acquiring the new technology,” he said.
This issue will be first analyzed by the Board of Foreign Trade (Comex) in the coming days, said the Minister of Telecommunications, Augusto Espín.
