In Ecuador 33,000 people were living with HIV in 2014, according to estimates by the UNAIDS
In 2014 the estimated number of people living with HIV (33,000) fell compared to the estimated in 2013 (37,000), according to reports from the UNAIDS. In 2014, HIV had a 3% prevalence in people aged between 15 and 49, and the deaths of about 1,200 people were estimated, according to the projections of the international agency.
On Tuesday, the World Day of the response to HIV-AIDS, the Ecuadorian Red Cross Provincial Board of Guayas is planning a day of activities to prevent HIV, the virus that causes Aids.
In conjunction with the foundation Guayas Avanza, the body will hand pamphlets and a red tie of sensitization to persons transiting along the 9 de Octubre Avenue, from the Centenario Park to the Simon Bolivar pier, including the building of the Guayas Governor´s Office.
