In July EU aims to implement an agreement to facilitate trade

The President of the European Commission (EC), José Manuel Durão Barroso, said yesterday before the director general of the world Trade Organization (WTO), Roberto de Azevedo, the need to implement “in the end of July”,the agreement for the facilitation of trade achieved in Bali, in December.

The Pact helped to unblock the Doha round for world trade liberalization, stagnant since 2008, to show the 159 WTO country members their political will to overcome thedivisions and to agree on important topics on agriculture, facilitation of trade and development.
“Therefore, trade is an integral part of the EU’s agenda to strengthen economic growth and create jobs,” he added. Barroso said that the “immediate priority” for the community international trade must “fully implement the Bali agreement”.
