Below we present, in full, the statements made by the Foreign Ministry: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, in relation to cases of alleged disappearance of several Ecuadorian citizens in Tamaulipas, Nuevo Laredo- Mexico, who, guided by human traffickers, would have disappeared and others died while trying to cross the Rio Grande, the night of April 13, in their eagerness to reach United States territory from America.
On this subject, the Consulate of Ecuador in Monterrey, which has consular jurisdiction in the area, is in charge of the corresponding procedures before the Mexican authorities to expedite the identification process of the two bodies recovered in the Rio Grande in the town of Nuevo Laredo, and determine if they correspond to the Ecuadorian citizens notified as disappeared, Messrs.

At the moment, the relatives have presented in the zonal coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the search requests of two missing persons: Miryan Alicia Paguay Mejía and Sara Elizabeth Sagñay Sagñay.
As for the rest of the citizens, their identities are unknown, for which family members are urged to go before the competent authorities to make the respective denunciations.
In virtue of this, in compliance with article 7 of the Human Mobility Law that establishes the right to confidentiality, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility has not published or authorized any kind of identity or photograph of any compatriot, so that what emphatically rejects the improper use of these data in social networks and media.
