Indigenous march came to install its parliament in Quito
A group of Indigenous and members of social organizations prepared the logistics for the arrival of the march for life and the water in Quito. One of them is Marco Guatemal, Vice President of the ECUARUNARI.”Today the demonstators perform a special ceremony before installing the Parliament of Peoples”.
In his Twitter account, President Rafael Correa said that the march for water is “a total failure, no one believes them. Its a shame that CONAIE has become a MPD branch office.” According to Correa, “they lie with the privatization of water, prohibited in the Constitution and the law itself.” And also said that “some bad leaders seek to continue controlling the water boards, based on their politics.”
“This is the legitimacy of the people to have their views, opinions, concerns and needs,” said Guatemal regarding the issue. According to the leader, they have violated many decrees and laws in the country. “There will also be provincial and local assemblies to awaken all Ecuador. We are not only four people as the President said to denigrate and discredit us,” he said.
