Indonesia Faces Seism and Strong Waves

This Wednesday waves of more than 80cm were seen in the eastern coast of the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. The waves started a violent seism with a magnitude of 8,6 in the Indian Ocean.
“Small tsunamis” from 36 to 80 waves affected four settlements in the north of Sumatra around 17:00 (GMT). The quake struck about 500 kilometres from Indonesia’s Aceh province.
The U.S. Geological Survey said, that it occurred at a depth of 33 kilometres. (AV)
