INEN starts issue of hallmarks in products of Peru
The Ecuadorian Institute of Standardization (INEN for its Spanish acronym) began its first internationalization process that allows it to cast its hallmarks to foreign industries in their country of origin, informed the director of the entity, Agustin Ortiz .
The first process was in Peru, where since last February, the INEN can already issue its stamps to industries of that country seeking to export their products to Ecuador.
“You request the service and the technician travels to Peru, the appointment is scheduled and each technical hour is charged,” said Ortiz, who estimated that an international hallmark can cost between $ 30,000 and $ 45,000, and the process can take a month, if there is evidence of laboratories and other requirements, up to one year if the INEN accompanies the process of the company to be certified.
Ortiz said he expects this service reachs other countries in the region and Europe.
