Ingrid Leon gets involved for alleged calls
With apparent ease Ingrid Leon Bermudez arrived to the linking hearing against her for her alleged involvement in the murder of journalist Fausto Valdiviezo. However, when the process ended, Leon broke into tears at her departure from the Second Court of Criminal of Guayas.
“I’m innocent, I’m innocent…,” shouted the woman profusely, meanwhile the police hurried her away from the media to avoid that she make any comments.
The prosecutor investigating the case, Victor Altamirano, not only linked Leon in the process, but also linked her husband, Juan Carlos Marin Londono. Jenny Unamuno, the defendant’s attorney reported that the couple had separated 14 years ago.
For this case seven people have already been processed: the Ecuadorian Juan Carlos Ruiz Leon, Alberto Procel Alarcon and Jose Enrique Roca Ladines; Maricel Montero Cordova, Colombian; Tresa Adriatik, Albania, Ivanov Dimitar Petrov from Bulgaria, Nikolaos Grcgianakopoulos, Lithuania. The last three were arrested at the home of Ingrid Leon.
Altamirano revealed that the participation of Leon was evidenced by phone calls between her and the suspects mentioned before, but did not specify with whom and neither about the content of the talks.
Unamuno maintained that her client is a “scapegoat” to give to the public the alleged perpetrators of the famous murder. “Justice for the weakest fails,” she added.
Meanwhile, Pedro Buitron the defense attorney Jose Enrique Roca Ladines and Luis Alberto Alarcon Procel, reported yesterday that he was unable to see the file, since it “does not appear in the Prosecution Office.” He added that Roca was arrested with a ballot that had another name and that he was linked to the case for some alleged calls. Procel is processed because a car on behalf of the family would have been used in the murder.
