Insults to Evo Morales in Social Networks will be Sanctioned
The Government of Bolivia has decided to sanction the people that insult the Bolivian president Evo Morales through the social networks.
“Here is in my cell phone, I’m always looking on the Internet and write the names of those that insult him: ‘ignorant Indigenous’, ‘Coke Indigenous ’, ‘we live in a mafia of coke trafficking’, this is the way they insult Morales”, pointed out the vice president to the press after reading a series of messages against the Bolivian President in Facebook and Twitter.
With the purpose of protecting the image and integrity of the president, his inner circle worked out a bill “against racism and any kind of discrimination” and punishes with jail those who violate it. So far there are two people detained.
According with the Interior minister, Carlos Romero, there is a unit dedicated to monitor the information of the digital newspapers and social networks. “Through Facebook, sometimes, people is misinformed with insults and aggressions, particularly against the president or members of the government.” AV
