Interests of the Oxy payment could rise to 300 million, according to state Attorney General

In an interview with El Comercio newspaper, the State Attorney General, Diego Garcia, speaks on the arbitration process of the Oxy case. He indicates that the arbitration process has cost about 0.8% of the proposed amount by Oxy, which was $ 3.370 million.

On the ruling that was announced on Monday, he said that the compensation in accordance with the decision of the Annulment Committee, is in relation to the 60% Occidental can claim.

“I do not have the exact calculation. But until last week we talked about USD 1 769 million, and we said that we would pay approximately USD 2 300 million with interest.” said Garcia on the final amount of compensation plus interest.
