Internal Revenue Service resolution invalidates the proceeding against Bananera Noboa

The resolution was issued on September 27, 2012 and annuls the process, began on May 19, 2010 against Industrial Bananera Noboa, to collect an alleged debt of $ 98 million.
The resolution also lifted the precautionary measures imposed on real state and personal property of various individuals and entities, linked to Bananera Noboa by the Internal Revenue Service (SRI for its Spanish acronym).
A statement posted on the official website of businessman Alvaro Noboa, entitled “SRI unmasked before the world,” says: “The declared nullity proves, for two years, that each statement was true and the SRI ones were false, and that our legal actions were justified and were defeated only by political power.”
On 29 September, SRI official’s arrived at Industrial Molinera‘s facilities in Guayaquil to deliver the first notification of the stipulated gloss. Officers of this institution seized seven vehicles parked at Banco del Litoral. Besides, a military operation was carried out to seize five crop dusters, which were located in Guayaquil’s airport hangar.
