Interpol offers to cooperate in the Montañita case
The Ecuadorian Attorney General’s Office seeks to dispel any doubts related to the investigation that follows the murder of two Argentine tourists. The Attorney General also intends to limit the concerns of the victims’ families.
To achieve those goals, the Ecuadorian government will include the cooperation of the Interpol, that includes the police work from Argentina and Colombia.
This decision was reached yesterday, after a private meeting that was held in Guayaquil, where Galo Chiriboga – the Attorney General – met with the families of Marina Menegazzo and María José Coni, whose bodies were found at the town of Montañita, located in the Province of Santa Elena.
After four hours of conversation, Chiriboga exposed to the press the decision taken towards the case. The family of the victims did not provide a declaration. (I)
