Investigation on tax havens is treated again in the Ecuadorean Assembly
The Justice Commission of the National Assembly will continue the investigations on offshore companies in tax havens in their information gathering phase, after the holidays.
The Legislative Branch decided to launch an investigation into this subject after the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) disclosed the information of more than 200 thousand offshore firms related to the legal consortium Mossack Fonseca (MF), documents that have been called Panama Papers and in which many Ecuadoreans appear.
For the next June 8th, the appearance of former Minister of Hydrocarbons Carlos Pareja Yannuzzelli is planned, and that day Comptroller General Carlos Polit could also appear, although this has not yet been confirmed.
