IRS Announces Trials Against Debtors

IRS uses coactive measures in Ecuador
The debts that 150.000 contributors have with the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) are public since yesterday. This is the last measure imposed by the government to recover around $250 million dollars that are pending.
The information of the debtors is of free access in Internet the only thing required is the ID number of the person or the company whose data wants to be consulted.
David Rueda, financial director of Ecuador IRS stated that the economic entity would start actions to recover the money owed. For serious cases they will use coactive measures, this means apply judicial actions, which could mean the freezing of the accounts of the debtor.
In the last months the IRS has started over 700 coactive processes against the contributors that presented his tax declarations, but did not paid the actual value. One case in particular is the one of the soccer team Club Deportivo El Nacional that owed approximately 119,000 dollars since December of 2011. (AV)
