The Institute of Social Security of the Armed Forces (ISSFA) requires the payment of a state´s debt to fulfill several obligations with the families of the soldiers who died in the plane crash, on March 15 in Pastaza.

Last Friday, the Ministry of Finance made a transfer of 29 million, which corresponds to a portion of the debt maintained with the ISSFA.

Magaly Granda, wife of Captain Luis Bolanos, one of 22 soldiers who died in the plane crash (Arava aircraft of the army), on 15 March in Pastaza, like the families of the soldiers killed in the crash, submitted to the ISSFA the information necessary to receive the benefits entitled by law.

However, the representative of the retired officers in the ISSFA board, Bolivar Silva, said that in order to meet these and other obligations, the payment of the debt the state maintains with the institute is required.

According to information from the ISSFA, to cover the life and accident insurance of 22 deceased military, $ 890,000 are required; for credit life insurance, $ 185,000; and burial insurance, $ 65,000.
