Italy will help Peru to assemble aircrafts
Mario Mauro, the Italian defense minister, offered the cooperation of his country to Peru to establish an assembly and maintenance center that will serve to build transportation aircraft in Peru, as reported by his Peruvian counterpart, Pedro Cateriano, during the visit of Mauro to Lima.
“This visit confirms the excellent level of bilateral relations between Italy and Peru and in the area of defense, where we have long-standing ties,” Cateriano said after meeting with Mauro in the Army Headquarters.
The Italian Minister of Defense said that the purpose of his government is “having to Peru as a strategic partner in South America and that goal transcends matters of defense and industrial partnership.”
The Italian Defense Minister also visited the Peruvian President Ollanta Humala to extend the greetings of his government and maintain good relations between the two countries and discussed the Multiparty Agreement signed by Peru and the European Union, while discussed the proposal of Spain to eliminate short-term Schengen visas for Peruvians and Colombians.
