Ecuadornews:
In an interview this morning on the program ‘El poder de la palabra’ at Ecuador Immediato Radio, Jorge Glas announced that he would “never” resign as vice president because the Ecuadorians elected him for a four-year term. “I will work with citizens… I have an Infinite faith in God, and whatever I do, I will do well,” stated Glas referring to the possibility of being removed from office by President Lenin Moreno.
“I am going to defend the decade won by Rafael Correa Delgado… I work so hard,” he said. All the economic figures were disclosed to President Moreno since the election campaign, he added.
“On the Odebrecht case, I believe that many reports from the National Audit Office are coming against many former officials,” he said. “I urge the authorities to finish this investigation … this has been a nightmare for me.”
Glas was mentioned in a tape leaked by a senior executive of Odebrechet after allegations of corruption by the Brazilian construction company. (I)
