Juan Carlos Carmigniani arrested for alleged scandal in public
Juan Carlos Carmigniani, the defense attorney of former chairman of the Central Bank of Ecuador, Pedro Delgado, was arrested today by a scandal in public. The announcement was made by the Minister of the Interior, José Serrano, through his Twitter account, adding that the police will give details on the arrest of Carmigniani in the upcoming hours.
According to the report of Serrano, in his Twitter account, Carmigniani was arrested for an “scandal in public way” after a concert in the coastal town of Durán, near Guayaquil, Ecuador’s metropolis. The minister said that “the medical examination is being carried out,” to Delgado’s lawyer.
Meanwhile Carmigniani, reported also by Twitter, that members of the police detained him and his wife this morning, adding that several officers allegedly beat them. In one of his recent tweets, the lawyer said his arrest was for “destroying state property” and that members of the security forces named Pedro Delgado.
In one of his last tweets, Carmigniani said “The event was clarified; the detention was because of a complaint from a tickets salesman. It’s clear that there is no persecution. Beyond the struggle, I am fine.”
