Judicial Police Could Move to Samborondón
The office transfer of the Judicial Police of Guayas (PJ-G) to the old place of Puntilla Mall, located in Samborondón, depends on the delivery of an institutional committee that evaluates the feasibility of moving the department to this place.
Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Flores, deputy head of the PJ-G, said that although there is an ongoing project for the construction of a technical section for the Police, is necessary to know if the site offer performance facilities.
According to Flores, the plan of the institution is to unify the technical areas (Criminology and Forensic Medicine), operational (seven investigative brigades) and administrative (issuance of police record
and other functions) of the PJ-G in one place.
“What is envisaged (build in Puntilla Mall) is an infrastructure that must be evaluated, we expect a positive answer, that confirms the existence of sufficient conditions to provide our services,” explained the official.
Last Saturday, the Head of State announced that the building of Puntilla Mall has been abandoned for over 10 years, so it would be the new place of the PJ-G.
