Just 37 Groups Were Eligible to Participate in Election Campaigns

The Ecuadorian National Electoral Council (CNE) approved only 37 of the 83 organizations registered, to participate in the forthcoming referendum campaigns and referendums to be held this May 7^th.

Twenty-two provincial offices are still in the process to review their cases. With them is achieved the amount of 100 nationwide.After ten hours of deliberations, the directors Omar Simon, Carlos Cortez, Fausto Camacho, Marcia Caidedo, and Manuela Cobacango, were able to classify organisms with a resolution passed early yesterday morning.

Of the 83 organizations that submitted the documents, 47 are social organizations and 36 belong to political parties and movements. Of the 36, 16 are awaiting approval that will be made when submitting documentation beyond the requirements already in place. Among the documentation to be presented are the entry applications or reentry in the CNE.

The Green Ecological Movement, Prian, Participation Party, and Democratic National COnsensur, are on hold until they provide the documentation that, however, is not decisive for the qualification such as voting certificates do the economic responsible.
