Labor demand and sales slowed down
Companies are adjusted from now before an economy that has not only been slow, but has fallen back a couple of quarters in a row.
Some appliance stores or banks, for example, have adapted their schedules. Bank customers find out that some financial institutions where have eliminated the evening shift, “because of expense control.”
According to the Central Bank, sales in the commercial, services and construction sectors, fell between 1.1% and a quick 6.3% in January compared to December.
The value of sales, at least in the commercial sector, fell by 16.4% compared to December. And “the volume of construction” fell by 9%. Of course January sales are always low compared to December, because of Christmas holidays, when sales soar.
