LAN Plane Carried 5 Kilos of Cocaine
is currently investigating the case of the five kilos of cocaine found on an airplane of the airline LAN, the last weekend. The flight came from Lima, Peru and it was supposed to pick up passengers in the Jose Joaquin de Olmedo airport of Guayaquil, its destiny was the city of New York.
Solorzano indicated that there are no arrests and no more drugs were found on the passenger’s luggage. What he is trying to figure out is if the cocaine was placed on Guayaquil or Lima. The price of the cocaine in the North American black market is near the half million dollars.
Over 39 passengers were inspected and sent back to the airplane. The drug was detected on the bathroom of the tail section of flight 1630. Police dogs found the cocaine in the back of the toilet. Meanwhile Police Chief of Narcotics, Carlos Cabrera was in charge of inspecting the luggage of the surprised passengers.
