Large economic groups sold $ 48,400 million in 2014
In 2014 the 125 main economic groups in Ecuador increased their revenue by 6.81% reaching 48,400 million dollars, according to the ranking of business conglomerates published by the Internal Revenue Service (SRI for its Spanish acronym).
The list is headed by Banco Pichincha, followed by the oil consortium OCP Ecuador, the Favorita Corporation (Supermaxi or Megamaxi supermarkey chains). As in previous years, Juan Eljuri stores, the Guayaquil Bank, Produbanco, Holdingdine, General Motors and El Rosado Corporation (Mi Comisariato) are in the top 10 list.
Claro is one of the new groups in the list, ranking position number 5. The companies achieved a sales figure, that mainly provided them revenues of $ 15,260 million in 2014. All them managed to improve the figures of the previous year, except OCP Ecuador (-14.55%) and Holdingdine (-9.02%). These revenues are almost a third of the total sales of all economic groups that make up the list of the SRI.
