Rafael Correa and Guillermo Lasso

Two times in 2006 when he was a candidate and two in November 2008, as a President. Back then the banker Guillermo Lasso, now aspiring to the presidency, invited Correa to his home in Samborondon, he also met with the current president and candidate for presidential reelection, Rafael Correa, in other locations as well.

The revelation of this information was made by Lasso during an interview on radio station, in which, he would not comment on the amount he gave to Correa for his campaign (2006) and according to the journalist Diego Oquendo, from Vision radio station, of $ 50,000, while indicating that he  is very well informed, Lasso noted that regarding the amount only Correa can deny or confirm the amount.

According to  Expreso Newspaper  the candidate of CREO said that in his first meeting with Correa he was accompanied by Fausto Ortiz and Vinicio Alvarado, in the second he went alone. The other two meetings were in November 2008, one in the Government Palace, where he was invited by Correa and the other, which was public, was during a business meeting. There is nothing wrong with making a contribution within the framework of the law in the electoral campaign, he said.
