Lasso-Tituaña binomial will register on Thursday

Auki Tituaña accepted the expulsion of Pachakutik and asked to be removed from their database at the CNE.
This Thursday, the presidential candidate of the Movement Creando Oportunidades (CREO), Guillermo Lasso, and his binomial, indigenous leader Auki Tituaña, will attend the National Electoral Council (CNE for its Spanish acronym) to officially register their candidacies.
This was confirmed by Cesar Monge, national director of CREO, citing Article 94 of the Organic Code of Democracy, which provides that “the parties and political movements or alliances may submit militants, sympathizers or unaffiliated persons as candidates for popular elections“.
It should be noted that Tituaña has not joined CREO yet, “I am participating as an independent citizen,” he said.
On his behalf, President of the CNE, Domingo Paredes, agrees with Tituaña that “there would not be any political or legal impediment, regarding the candidacy or nomination for vice president of Auki Tituaña” he said. (MZ)
