The top leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), A.K.A. “Alfonso Cano”, died in Colombia, reported a source from the Ministry of Defense of Colombia on Saturday.
No one knows neither the date nor the exact time of the death of Guillermo León Sáenz (“Alfonso Cano”) but it is speculated that he died two weeks ago. The identity of the body was confirmed today.
Juan Carlos Pinzon, Colombian Minister of Defense, mentioned earlier in a press conference that four guerrillas were captured in an operation against “Alfonso Cano”, held at La Salvajina, where they allegedly killed a radio operator and Cano’s girlfriend.
