Lenin Moreno invites Bolivian President Evo Morales to the ‘sacred scepter’ ceremony
Ecuadornews:
The indigenous movements allied to the ruling party will give Lenin Moreno a ‘spiritual sacred scepter’ as a symbolic Presidential inauguration act.
The National Confederation of Peasant, Indigenous and Afro-American Organizations (Fenocin), along with other associations of the Pact of Unity, will hold this ceremony in the Cochasquí pyramid, in the northwest of Quito, the 25th of May, one day after the presidential inauguration.
This emblem will represent the symbols of the ancestral peoples, it also means “the sacred tree of the life.” “This scepter is going to be a guide for the president to maintain a physical, spiritual, and emotional balance. It symbolizes that a ruler has to listen, feel, reflect, and to seek consensus with the people,” said Columba, coordinator of political affairs at the Fenocin.
This meeting will be held with the support of the Policy Management Secretariat, which will coordinate the presence of Bolivia’s President Evo Morales. The arrival of the authorities is expected at 11:00 am of that day.
