Neon lights, LEDs or tiny colored lights give life to public spaces in different cities of the country this season.
The roadways of parks, squares, buildings, poles, shrubs and even the trees are decorated creatively, with all kinds of figures alluding to Christmas. In addition to the adaptation of these spaces, in other places giant structures are assembled in the form of gifts, dolls or Christmas trees.
In Cuenca, for example, stands the one that is considered one of the largest tre esin Ecuador. This structure competes with similar ones that are in shopping malls, parking lots or parks in Guayaquil, Riobamba, Cuenca, Ambato, Latacunga and Ibarra; besides Quito, Portoviejo, among other cities.
The squares and streets illuminated with this theme are not only the tourist attractions of this time. Many of them are stages of Christmas programs and tours, as in Riobamba. There, the Route of Light is promoted, which began on December 7 and will end in January. (I)
