Liquor prices will drop due to tariff reduction
Posted On 24 Jul 2014
Liquors prices will drop by the tariff reduction, which will start when the trade agreement between Ecuador and the European Union takes effect, approximately in 2016.
That’s why formal businesses make calculations of the new prices of liquor from the EU. A Johny Walker Black Label whisky, for example, may go from $ 78 to $ 40 or so.
However, this will depend on a deductibility list in which all liquors are included. In the case of Ecuador, it is unknown if the total tax deduction applies to all European alcoholic beverages. Currently, scotch, wines, sparkling wines, French triple sec, sherry, snacks, etc. are imported from that block.
