Macara defeated Quevedo and Liga tied with Independediente

In Ambato, the hosts won 2 – 0 against Deportivo Quevedo, which now remains last in the standings and is a strong candidate for relegation, while Liga de Quito tied 2 – 2 with Independiente with goals from Jaime Ayovi after losing 0 – 2 at home and before angry fans who insulted the players and the coaching staff.

On Friday, Emelec lost 1 – 2 against Universidad Catolica and Deportivo Quito was thrashed 1 – 6 in Cuenca.

The eighth day is completed today with matches: El Nacional vs Liga de Loja and Barcelona vs Manta.

With the partial results, the standings are: Universidad Catolica is first with 18 points plus 9 from goals, followed by Emelec, also with 18 points, but plus 8 from goals.
