Maduro and Capriles exchanged accusations
The Tension between the two candidates for the new elections in Venezuela is increasing due to strong accusations revealed in recent days.
The opposition character Henrique Capriles, after formally accepting his candidacy for the presidential elections of April 14, referred directly to President in charge Nicolas Maduro, accusing him of lying about the health of Chavez and exploit the pain of all Venezuelans due to his death. “Make no mistake telling that you are good and we are bad, no! You are not better than us, I do not play with death, I do not play with pain,” said Capriles.
“Who knows when President Chavez died? You had everything figured it out (…) now above all, you use the president’s body to campaign,” said Capriles while accusing “Nicolas and his comrades” of being “Sick of power. ” He challenged Maduro and said: “I will not make this easy to you Nicolas, you have to beat me with votes.”
Before the accusations, Maduro responded with violence and said that Capriles’ words were “a serious historical irresponsibility” that marked “today as the day of the total collapse of this sad character that can not disguise the defeat in his eyes. ” “He is an actor which now drops his mask so we can see his nauseating fascist face, and I am not exaggerating a word I am saying. Their goal is to provoke the people of Venezuela,” he said.
“By God, fellow patriots do not fall into this provocation. I ask you in the name of our Redeemer boss. This is not the time for violence or revenge or hatred, it’s time for love,” Maduro said while he (ironically) recommended “all the people to repudiate, to reject” his opponent in the polls.
Finally he concluded his remarks by saying that Capriles is a “wretched losing candidate” who has “declared war on the Bolivarian Revolution.”
The deadline to appear before the National Electoral Council expires today at 18:30. Capriles confirmed that “in the afternoon” he will register the application and will not do any political rally, “in respect of mourning” declared in the country.
