Manabi deacon will be commissioned to proclaim the Gospel at outdoor Mass in Guayaquil

Jorge Luis Sornoza, deacon and student of the San Pedro de Portoviejo Seminary, will be responsible to proclaim the gospel in a sung way in the outdoor mass Pope Francis will hold Monday in Guayaquil.

Manuel Cedeño, vicar of Portoviejo, confirmed that Sornoza was appointed by Lorenzo Voltollini, Archbishop of Portoviejo for Manabi and member of the Liturgical Commission of the Ecuadorian Episcopal Conference.

“To receive the Pope’s blessing before the proclamation of the Gospel is the greatest gift I have ever received. Since I’m a little nervous.” Sornoza said.
