Marc Anthony will build orphanage for children in Barranquilla
The Puerto Rican singer Marc Anthony last Thursday put the foundation stone of an orphanage for 200 children that he will build with support from private companies in the Colombian city of Barranquilla, as part of an initiative called ‘A temporary home’.
“Thanks to the support of all present our dream to continue helping homeless children in Latin America and have the opportunity to build new homes is a reality,” said the artist, who began the construction of this work on 1.2 acres in Barranquilla.
This initiative is supported by the Maestro Cares Foundation, leading the artist and his partner Henry Cardenas, along with the foundations of the glass factory Tecnoglass and oil company Pacific Rubiales.
The orphanage will be inaugurated on April 7 next year and will be named the auxiliary bishop of Barranquilla, Victor Tamayo, who attended the laying of the cornerstone.
