Margoth Escobar awaits audience to know if she goes to trial
Amazon activist Margoth Escobar will know if a trial will be started against her on November 10 at a hearing to be held in Puyo, Pastaza, where she is native.
The preliminary hearing of trial is set for that day, in which the prosecutor who investigates her for her involvement in an anti-regime march will submit his opinion.
This was stated the lawyer of Escobar, Wilman Jaramillo, who said that Wednesday of last week he was notified by Judge Luis Miranda.
Jaramillo said that his client is being investigated for the alleged crime of attack and resistance, allegedly committed during a demonstration last August 13. He anticipated that the opinion of prosecutor Maribel Barreno will be accusatory because if it was of abstention, he mused, would have been notified b the judge.
