Maria Corina Machado is dismissed as Assemblyman
The president of Venezuela’s National Assembly Diosdado Cabello said that opposition lawmaker Maria Corina Machado is no longer deputy and for that reason cannot enter the legislature.
Speaking to the media, Cabello said that by having agreed to be the alternate representative of Panama in the OAS, Machado also loses its immunity and should face justice for the charges against her.
“Ms. Machado can not enter more to the National Assembly because she is no longer deputy, neither to the parliamentary office of the Pajarito building and not will continue receiving the salary of deputy (…) she has lost the immunity and can be arrested at any time without notification to anyone for treason to the Nation, “he said.
In response to these statements, the Venezuelan opposition deputy María Corina Machado said this Monday that it will continue as deputy whereas wants it the people.
