Mauricio Rodas Requests Precautionary Measures to the IACHR

The leader of the United Society More Action movement (Sociedad Unida Más Acción “SUMA”), Mauricio Rodas, presented this morning at the headquarters of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in Washington, a request for precautionary measures to ensure a smooth development of the electoral process in the 2013 Ecuador elections.
“Facing the absence of independent institutions in Ecuador, we have come to the IACHR to ask for precautionay measures”, Rodas posted on his Twitter account.
The request for precautionary measures is signed by nine political organizations, which are: Coalition Movement (Movimiento Concertación), Popular Democratic Movement (Movimiento Popular Democrático “MPD”), Pachakutik, Creating Opportunities (Creando Oportunidades “CREO”), United Society More Action (Sociedad Unida Más Acción “SUMA”), Ecuadorian Roldosista Party (Partido Roldosista Ecuatoriano “PRE”), Participation Movement (Movimiento Participación) and Popular Power (Poder Popular).
