Mayor Nebot notified that popular consultation process will start in November
Mayor Jaime Nebot notified on October 22 that the process for a popular consultation of local character will start in November, in which citizens will be asked about the rise in bus fares and transportation subsidies within the transitcompetence by the Municipality of Guayaquil.
Through a radio interview, Nebot said that he will start the process driven by the people themselves. “Let’s see what the people say. I am interested in what the people of Guayaquil say, to these people I owe myself and no one else. The query goes because it is necessary, because it is constitutional. It goes because when there is an argument that can not be settled in another way, is the people who have to settle it,” he said.
Nebot informed that he has received constant visits of neighborhood delegations and students proposing the popular consultation to elucidate the issue of transportation.
