Men were the protagonists in the “28 de Mayo” school
Yesterday, men were the protagonists during a civic event that took place on the campus to commemorate the revolt of May 28, which gave rise to the name of the educational unit, where two years ago there was no mixed students.
The blue Pavilion of the school was carried by Ronald Chin, one of the three most outstanding students who hoisted the flags.
This ceremony was presided by Melannie Marquez, who took the microphone to make a review of the event.
“On May 28, 1944 took place a popular uprising that in some sectors of the country is known as the Glorious, and that overthrew President Carlos Arroyo del Rio to make way for the Presidency of Velasco Ibarra,” the young girl said.
Alesva Coello who continued with the review, explained that from the uprising comes the name of the institution that was born in 1944 as a typing and shorthand school for young ladies, but since last year welcomes also males.
This ceremony, besides remembering the event that gave the name to the school, was also used to promote a campaign of values and principles, which is being carried on since the events registered in 2011, when a video circulated on the Internet in which campus students danced with sensual movements with students of the Vicente Rocafuerte school.
