Today the Brazilian government launched a comic magazine in three languages with children’s characters from “A Turma da Mónica” (Monica’s Gang) to promote friendship between children of Mercosur.
The magazine will be translated to Guaraní, Portuguese and Spanish.
“We are working with our art, our technique, and our characters to lead the message of unity of ours countries to children, they are the flag for the future,” said De Souza.
The magazine has stories and games about geography, history, and culture from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
The project aims to encourage other artists to create characters who help to the development of the magazine that wants to tell children the history of the region.
The distribution of the magazine will be in schools of the Mercosur countries. According to the artist, the action will help to strengthen among children values such as faith in the future, hope, and ecology.
The “Turma da Monica” is the most popular children’s cartoon in Brazil and has inspired numerous theme parks and commercial products, such as children’s clothing, footwear, cosmetics, and toy lines.
