The Metroexpress transport consortium, which is in charge  of operating the new Metrovia backbone of the July 25-River Duale (Bus Terminal), would begin its operation on February 16, almost two months after the initial deadline, once it has its 44 articulated buses and 45 feeders, which is half of the fleet that will provide the service.

The announcement was made by the president of the Foundation Metrovia, Federico von Buchwald, who pointed out that the carriers have indicated that they will be in Guayaquil during the first week of March and another 22 units also, he warned that there will be no more extensions for Metroexpress.

As it is known, the consortium has had serious problems with the entry of its articulated buses, most of them stationed in Huaquillas, due to a lack of money to pay the taxes, which are estimated at $ 5 million.
