Michael Jackson’s former wife denies he bought doctors
The former wife of the singer said before a jury that the artist never bribed any doctor to get prescriptions for strong pain medications, during the 80s and 90s.
During the hearing for the lawsuit filed by Jackson’s mother against AEG Live LLC for negligence, Debbie Rowe said that Michael Jackson constantly was subjected to long and painful treatments due to severe injuries to his skin and the effects of vitiligo. Rowe admitted that Jackson suffered from a debilitating pain in almost all the 20 years she knew him.
However, her then husband trusted in the doctors and hoped that they would give him the proper medication. He did not ask for specific drugs but had a great fear of the pain the treatments caused him.
“When it came to the pain … he was begging for relief more than anything,” Rowe said. “He respected doctors so he wouldn’t question what they were doing.”
Rowe is the mother of the two oldest children of the King of pop, Prince and Paris Jackson. She and Michael were married from 1996 until 1999.
