Military retirement pensions shall be determined based on the last 5 years, says Ricardo Patino

The Social Security Act of the Armed Forces would experience changes in the calculation of the retirement pension; while the military unemployment fund will undergo an analysis by the Institute of Social Security of the Armed Forces (ISSFA), the Ministry of Defense and the Joint Command (Comaco) before its reform.
Defense Minister Ricardo Patino confirmed yesterday he it will present draft reforms related to the law that regulates the retirement process of the members of the Armed Forces to the Legislature.
In the military complex, located in La Recolet,a in Quito, Patino sat among the heads of the three Forces: Luis Castro, commander of the Army; Cesar Merizalde, of the Ecuadorian Air Force (FAE); and Fernando Noboa, of the Navy, to explain this process, although they were not allowed to answer questions:
“Questions shall be be addressed to me, Comaco members accompany me, but I will be the only one who answers questions,” he said.
