Millions of unnacounted euros are found in the Vatican

Several hundred million euros unaccounted appeared in the accounts of the various ministries of the Vatican, revealed the Australian Cardinal George Pell, who heads the new Secretariat of Economy of Pope Francis.

“We’ve found that the (financial) situation (of the Vatican) was much healthier than it looked. Because hundreds of millions euros were hidden in various sectoral accounts and did not appear on the balance sheets,” said in an interview.

“It is important to emphasize that the Vatican is not in bankrupt,” said the cardinal, who described the old system, in which each service had an independence jealously preserved.
