Supermarkets must publish prices on their websites
The supermarkets and similars are required to publish a list of their products with their retail prices on their websites, so that consumers are informed.
The publication will be monthly, as stated in article 31 of the Manual of Good Practice for Commercial sector Supermarkets and / or similar and its suppliers that took effect last Saturday.
The standard, which also includes regulations such as deadlines for payments to suppliers and equal presence of the products of different brands on the racks of the supermarket, was issued on 29 August by the Superintendency of Control Market Power (SCPM).
The text also invites civil society to organize citizen observatories to oversee compliance with the listing price.
According to the Superintendent of Power Control Markets, the measure took effect the first of November, it applies to business premises that exceed one thousand square meters area and distribute consumer goods such as food, drink, personal care products and household cleaning, vegetables and meats.
