Mining reform will be discussed tomorrow in the Assembly
After the Economic Regime Commission, chaired by ruling assembly member Oswaldo Larriva, approved a positive report for the processing, within a first debate, of the urgent project that will reform the Mining Law, tomorrow they will discuss it in the plenary, on a debate called for 15:45.

Oswaldo Larriva approved a positive report.
The report was approved by eleven out of twelve Assembly members who are part of the committee, which made specific observations, but that did not change the ultimate goal of the Executive’s proposal, which goes from raising this regulation to an organic law to change the way in which the State will grant mining concessions.
Throughout the process of discussing the report, the commission did not include the position taken by the indigenous and peasant organizations which have proposed for the reforms to be subjected to pre-legislative consultation, which in their opinion, affect the collective rights established in the Constitution.
Ramiro Aguilar (SUMA) was the only member who abstained from voting on the report, after making an observation, ensuring that there is no fundamentals that sustain the urgency nature of the project sent by the Executive.
