The Ministry of Labor reported yesterday, Wednesday, April 15, 2020, that the proposal to suspend work hours for three months without payment of salary or payment of contribution to social security will not be accepted .
The Minister of this Portfolio, Luis Poveda , had said on April 14, 2020 in a television interview that this was one of the possible proposals that would be included in the labor reform that the Executive would ask the Assembly for the covid-19 emergency. .
“After being analyzed, the measure was not accepted,” the entity clarified in a statement.
The Ministry explained that they are working at a social dialogue table with different sectors to analyze proposals “that reactivate the economy and ensure labor rights.”
