Posted On 05 Aug 2014
Nancy Writebol, missionary from the Samaritan’s Purse organization, who worked in Liberia treating patients with Ebola, today would arrive in an air ambulance to Dobbins Air Reserve Base, in northeast Atlanta. There she will be treated at the University Hospital of Emory, along with Kent Brantly, doctor of the same organization who was also infected with Ebola.
Writebol, as well as Brantly received an experimental serum in Liberia which dramatically improved their condition prior to shipment. This serum had not been tried before in humans, it was only tested with monkeys, giving promising results.
