Posted On 25 Sep 2011
Thanks to the information given by a supporter of Muammar Gadhafi, Insurgents discovered today a mass grave with 1,270 bodies near the d’Abou Salim prison in Tripoli.
The remains found in the grave may belong to prisoners in Abu Salim prison massacred by the Gadhafi regime in 1996.
Abdelhakim Belhadj, head of the Military Council of Tripoli, who has been held for many years in the prison of Abou Salim said that rebel forces have been gathering information on the location of the grave but there are still uncertainties about it.
More than 1,200 people were killed and the authorities remained silent.
