NASA Satellite Fell into Earth
Posted On 24 Sep 2011
A NASA satellite of six tonnes fell into Earth on Saturday, the space agency informed.
The satellite is the size of a bus and fell over the Pacific Ocean, but that does not mean that all the fragments are at the sea, NASA projected that they could have spread along 800 km.
The Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) of 11 meters (35 feet) fell between 0123 GMT and 0509 GMT, without knowing the exact location, according to the Joint Air Force Operations Center and NASA.
